Joint Replacement
Hip, knee, and shoulder replacement using modern implants and techniques, with pre-operative education, on-site therapy, and many procedures performed in our own surgery center.
Our specialty-trained doctors evaluate, diagnose, and treat the full range of joint replacement conditions and injuries — always starting with the most conservative effective option, and offering advanced surgical care when it's needed.
Care is available at both our Torrington and Bristol offices, with on-site X-ray, physical and occupational therapy, and many procedures performed at the Litchfield Hills Surgery Center.
Common conditions we treat
- Advanced hip arthritis — when cartilage loss makes walking, stairs, and sleep painful
- Advanced knee arthritis — bone-on-bone changes that no longer respond to injections and therapy
- Shoulder arthritis and rotator cuff arthropathy — treated with total or reverse total shoulder replacement
How we treat them
Treatment always starts with the most conservative effective option. Depending on your condition, your plan may include:
- A trial of everything conservative first — therapy, injections, bracing, activity changes
- Pre-operative education so you know exactly what to expect
- Modern implants and techniques, with many procedures performed at our own surgery center
- On-site physical and occupational therapy for a coordinated recovery
When to see a doctor
Joint replacement is elective — you'll know it's time when pain limits your daily life despite conservative care. A consultation doesn't commit you to surgery; it gives you an honest picture of your options and timing.
